Spathi Ansdari - Concept 2

This is another concept of Spathi Ansdari I've been working on for the past few months now. This shows his complete stature and has him equipped with his flesh cloak scythe, his primary weapon and armor, which is also vampiric and alive.

The flesh cloak is capricious and even hisses and growls at Spathi. Its macabre properties are mysterious, including the capability of storing the blood of fallen enemies like a blood bag. At times, it will even ravenously syphon blood from Spathi like a parasite, yet it will inject it back into Spathi to heal fatal wounds when it feels that Spathi's life is in danger. The flesh cloak does not do this out of compassion but is instead reluctant to lose its host and source of nutrients.

Having been imbued with a specific supernatural incantation from the Animal Man and also being crafted from Spathi's former rotting flesh, the flesh cloak is unable to infest and fuse itself to another host, despite its ability to partake of the fluids of enemies. Thus, Spathi and the flesh cloak are forced to coexist in a precarious, codependent symbiosis in order to survive the apocalyptic wastelands of Raktogin. As a result, Spathi constantly bemoans the burden of wielding the flesh cloak, slowly tiring of "using his past as a weapon."

This piece is a work in progress and intended to give everyone a basic idea of what Spathi and the flesh cloak resemble in my RAVAGE AND REQUIEM novels. It's not perfect, and plan to edit it more in the future. When I feel it is complete, I will add the logo at the bottom.
