Mocker Concepts

Some concepts for a type of Drixiles knows as mockers in my RAVAGE AND REQUIEM novel series.

The mockers are an order of barbed goat demons led by the Dranixile Tenoc, their archdemon. They delight in destructive soirees and revels, weaving dark magic through chanting, human sacrifice, bonfires, and infernal music by drums and Tenoc's syrinx, a mess of pan pipes crudely constructed of human windpipes and larynxes meshed together with metal tubes. Drixilacs, human cultists who worship Drixilo, are often seen reveling with the mockers.

The purpose of their horrid rituals vary, usually consisting of opening and closing portals, drawing dark powers from nearby leylines, and awakening more potent demonic entities and coaxing them from other planes of existence.

Along with their grotesque instruments, mockers can summon blazing tridents, whether to skewer humans in battle or for sacrifice. In the apocalyptic mortal world of Raktogin, they are often seen in the ruins of cathedrals, temples, and even burial grounds, desecrating and destroying everything they touch.
