Penterium Hinge - Concept 1

A concept for the Penterium Hinge, the Drixilian capital on Raktogin in New Neva, in my RAVAGE AND REQUIEM series. From the ornate summit of the massive pyramid-like silo in the distance, Zilan, one of the Drixilian Scions, masquerades as a god in his palace-like temple and maintains control of the four provinces of the Penterium and their corresponding tetrarchs. This grim, dystopian megapolis is an extension of House Oxil, Drixilo's palace, which is found in the Nevarifta, the underworld and the darkest and bottommost level of the spiritual Anli realms.

Far beneath the silo is the Imperial Core, which was once the sight of a state-of-the-art research facility conducting various radical experiments, including but not limited to the use of particle accelerators and colliders. It is errantly believed by many of the remnants of the Enpherom and Enoshah nations that an experiment went awry and opened a portal to another dimension, releasing a race of aliens to wreak havoc, while others believe the Drixiles to be a hyper-advanced civilization found dwelling in a "hollow Raktogin." Little know the truth that the collider's failure was nothing more than an elaborate front to deceive the mortal denizens of Raktogin and that the door to the Nevarifta was opened by consistent demonic rituals performed by a clandestine society of corrupt, wealthy Drixilac cultists, ushering in what is known by few as the Second Surfacing of the Drixiles. It is also the sight where the Drixiles plan to coax Drixilo's disembodied form into the material plane to be reincarnated in corporeal form so that he can assimilate what remains of Raktogin and infect them with the Ravage and lead his armies to besiege the Unleztruv, the heavenly uppermost level of the spiritual Anli realms where the angelic Arczells reside.

Note how puny the skyscrapers are up against the Drixilian superstructures and colossal monuments of the Penterium Hinge, which dwarf even some of the most towering mountains. Some of the upper city's skyscrapers are even visible on the stair-like terraces of the gargantuan pyramid silo and seem microscopic compared to the silo's daunting architecture when viewed from a distance.
